THE 2-INCH MINIPIN BY GYMPIN

Compact Cable-Stack Loading for Tighter Spaces

The 2-inch MiniPin is GymPin’s compact cable-stack extender. Its 80 mm loading sleeve lets you add a 2-inch Olympic plate to a compatible selectorised machine where the Original GymPin’s longer sleeve would leave insufficient clearance.

Compact cable-stack loading for machines where space is limited.

The 2" MiniPin by GymPin replaces the selector pin on a compatible cable-machine weight stack and provides an 80 mm loading sleeve for a standard 2-inch Olympic plate. It is the compact choice when the Original GymPin’s longer sleeve would leave insufficient clearance beside the machine.

  • 80 mm loading sleeve for tighter cable-stack setups
  • 49.5 mm sleeve diameter for 2-inch Olympic plates with a 50.8 mm centre hole
  • Choose an 8 mm (5/16") or 10 mm (25/64") selector pin
  • 102 mm selector-pin section
  • Available in Raw, Polished and Black finishes
  • Manufactured in the United Kingdom

Compatibility

The MiniPin is designed for compatible selectorised cable machines that use an 8 mm or 10 mm selector pin. Fit is not universal. Measure the machine’s existing pin with callipers and check there is enough room for the 80 mm sleeve plus your chosen Olympic plate before ordering.

MiniPin, Original or KingPin?

Choose the MiniPin for restricted-clearance setups, the Original GymPin as the standard all-round extender, or the KingPin when a 10 mm machine has enough space for an extra-long loading sleeve.

Dimensions and weight

The loading section measures 80 mm long × 49.5 mm diameter. The selector-pin section measures 102 mm long and is available in 8 mm or 10 mm diameter. The 8 mm MiniPin weighs 494 g; the 10 mm MiniPin weighs 527 g.

Setup and safety

Obtain the gym owner’s permission before use. Insert the MiniPin fully, begin with a light test load and confirm the plate stays clear of the machine throughout the movement. Follow the equipment manufacturer’s loading limits, use controlled repetitions and never slam the weight stack.

  1. 1
    Measure the existing selector pin

Use callipers to check whether your machine uses an 8 mm or 10 mm pin. Do not choose by eye.

  2. 2
    Check the available clearance

Confirm there is room for the 80 mm loading sleeve and your chosen Olympic plate without contacting the machine.

  3. 3
    Insert the MiniPin fully

Select the required weight on a compatible stack and insert the small end into the selector-pin hole as you would the machine’s standard pin.

  4. 4
    Load and test

Add a compatible 2-inch Olympic plate, begin with a light test load and use smooth, controlled repetitions.

  • Designed for compatible selectorised cable-machine weight stacks that use an 8 mm or 10 mm selector pin.
  • The 49.5 mm loading sleeve accepts standard 2-inch Olympic plates with a 50.8 mm centre hole.
  • The loading sleeve is 80 mm long, making the MiniPin the compact choice when a longer sleeve would have insufficient clearance.
  • Measure the machine’s selector pin and the available plate clearance before ordering. Fit is not universal.

Gym access: ask the gym owner for permission before attaching personal equipment. Follow the machine manufacturer’s loading limits and instructions.

SHORTER WHERE IT MATTERS

More Resistance. Less Sleeve.

Some cable stacks have enough room for extra resistance but not for a full-length loading sleeve. The MiniPin keeps the Olympic sleeve to 80 mm, giving you a compact route to progressive overload on compatible machines.

Use it for cable curls, triceps pressdowns, rows, pulldowns, lateral raises and other controlled cable exercises once the built-in stack is no longer enough.

80 mm loading sleeve

A compact sleeve for machines where the Original GymPin’s longer loading section would leave insufficient room.

Two selector-pin diameters

Choose 8 mm or 10 mm to match the pin used by your compatible weight stack.

Built for Olympic plates

The 49.5 mm sleeve accepts plates with a standard 2-inch / 50.8 mm centre hole.

CHOOSE THE RIGHT GYMPIN

MiniPin, Original or KingPin?

Choose by your machine’s selector-pin diameter and the loading-sleeve clearance available beside the stack.

Comparison of MiniPin, Original GymPin and KingPin loading-sleeve lengths and selector-pin sizes
Model Loading sleeve Selector pin Best suited to
2" MiniPinCompact 80 mm 8 mm or 10 mm Restricted clearance and smaller loading needs
Original GymPinAll-round 155 mm 8 mm or 10 mm The standard choice for most compatible cable stacks
KingPinExtra-long 200 mm 10 mm only More loading room where the machine has enough clearance

All three models use a 49.5 mm loading sleeve for 2-inch Olympic plates. Always measure your machine before ordering.

CHECK THE FIT BEFORE YOU BUY

Measure First. Load With Confidence.

The MiniPin is available in two selector-pin diameters and is not a universal-fit product. Measure the machine’s existing pin and the space beside the weight stack before selecting a variant.

  1. 1
Measure the selector pinUse callipers and choose 8 mm or 10 mm to match the existing machine pin.
  2. 2
Check side clearanceAllow for the 80 mm sleeve plus the full width and diameter of your chosen plate.
  3. 3
Confirm the plate holeUse a 2-inch Olympic plate with a 50.8 mm centre hole.
  4. 4
Choose single or pairA single suits one-sided loading; select a pair only when your intended setup requires two.

PRODUCT QUESTIONS, ANSWERED

2-inch MiniPin FAQs

Clear answers about selector-pin size, Olympic plates, clearance and choosing the right GymPin model.

What is the 2-inch MiniPin?

The MiniPin is a compact cable-stack weight extender. It replaces the selector pin on a compatible machine and provides an 80 mm sleeve for adding a 2-inch Olympic plate beside the stack.

How is the MiniPin different from the Original GymPin?

The MiniPin has an 80 mm loading sleeve for restricted-clearance setups. The Original GymPin has a 155 mm sleeve and is the standard all-round choice when the machine has more space. Both are available with an 8 mm or 10 mm selector pin.

How is the MiniPin different from the KingPin?

The MiniPin uses a compact 80 mm loading sleeve and is available in 8 mm or 10 mm selector-pin sizes. The KingPin uses an extra-long 200 mm sleeve, is available with a 10 mm selector pin only and is intended for greater loading room where clearance permits.

Will the MiniPin fit my cable machine?

Fit is not universal. Your selectorised machine must use an 8 mm or 10 mm selector pin and must have enough side clearance for the 80 mm sleeve plus your chosen plate. Measure both before ordering.

Should I choose the 8 mm or 10 mm MiniPin?

Measure the diameter of the machine’s existing selector pin with callipers. Choose 8 mm (5/16 inch) or 10 mm (25/64 inch) to match that measurement; do not estimate by eye.

What weight plates fit the MiniPin?

Use standard 2-inch Olympic plates with a 50.8 mm centre hole. The loading sleeve is 49.5 mm in diameter and 80 mm long.

What are the exact MiniPin dimensions?

The large loading section is 80 mm long and 49.5 mm in diameter. The selector-pin section is 102 mm long and is available in either 8 mm or 10 mm diameter.

Do I need one MiniPin or a pair?

Choose a single MiniPin for one-sided loading on a compatible stack. Pair variants are available for setups that require two pins; confirm how you intend to use them before selecting the quantity.

How much does the MiniPin weigh?

The 8 mm MiniPin weighs 494 g and the 10 mm MiniPin weighs 527 g.

Is the MiniPin made in the UK?

Yes. The 2-inch MiniPin is manufactured in the United Kingdom.

Customers praised this durable pin for adding weight increments to cable machines. Shoppers noted it "does not bend" and works perfectly for progressive overload. The compact size fits restricted spaces like Technogym machines. Customers appreciated the excellent quality and fast shipping, though some mentioned high international shipping costs and import taxes.

Excellent pin to add more weight

Excellent pin to add more weight. Does not bend. Works like it should. The only thing that bothered me is the high price to get it in Germany. With shipping + tarifs and tax it almost double as expensive.

However, I am glad I did not buy a cheap one somewhere else as all of these seem to bend quickly. This did not bend a bit. Glad to have it.

Thanks so much for the great review. We really appreciate you taking the time to share your experience.

We’re glad to hear the GymPin is doing exactly what it should and, importantly, standing up properly under load. That reliability is a huge part of what we set out to achieve, so it’s great to hear it’s made the difference.

We completely understand your frustration around shipping, tariffs and tax into Germany. It’s not ideal, and we know those added costs can make the overall price feel much higher than it should. That said, we’re pleased the product itself proved worth it in the end.

Thanks again for your support. Enjoy the gains.

Gympins are a brilliant concept

The concept of these pins is brilliant for getting back on track with progress overload once you've got to the bottom of a cable weight stack.
The MiniPin in particular is a must have in order to be able use one in restricted areas, areas such as Technogym machines that have pillars in front of the stack, or the low row machine where the stack is very close to the machine arm.
I purchased the mini and the original together, between them all eventualities are covered.

David, this is a superb review, thank you.

You’ve nailed exactly why we created both versions. Once you max out a selectorised stack, progress should not stop there. The Original covers the majority of setups, and as you pointed out, the MiniPin comes into its own on tighter machines like Technogym or low rows with limited clearance.

That’s precisely why many lifters choose the pair. Between them, there’s always a solution.

We really appreciate you taking the time to explain the use case so clearly. Reviews like this genuinely help others understand how to get the most from their kit.

Train hard.

works great so far!

Was nervous about picking the right size 8mm or 10mm. I needed the 10mm and it fits perfectly. Same with the length. I picked the stubby version (mini) as I didn't have enough room for the full size but it can still fit two standard size olympic plates. Likely 3 if they are thin. Here come the gains! Thanks!

Thanks Kevin — awesome to hear the 10 mm MiniPin fits perfectly on your setup. It’s designed for tight stacks and still takes serious weight. Enjoy the gains

Changed my workouts for the better!

Heard about GymPin a while ago but thought it was for anyone who had exceeded the weight in the stack. I had been struggling with some of the jumps in weight (60kg to 70kg etc.) but this has given me the ability to add smaller weight jumps and keep progressively overloading! I’ll be buying a full size one soon too!

A must have for anyone serious with training

Such an Important addition to your gym bag. Helps with progressing lifts and especially when the jump between plates is too big. Found this really useful when rehabbing my shoulder surgery. Excellent quality and finish. I have 2 of these now :)
