02

There is very little clearance

A compact MiniPin can suit compatible stacks where a standard-length loading sleeve would foul the frame.

View the MiniPin →
03

You need specialist heavy loading

The 10 mm KingPin is the longer specialist option. Its stated load rating is 60 kg; always respect the machine limit and never slam the stack.

A plate-loaded machine lacks sleeve space

Machine Extenders increase usable loading space on compatible Olympic plate-loaded machines.

Measure the machine—not the logo on it

Manufacturers can use different components across models and production years. A brand name alone does not confirm compatibility.

  1. Identify the exact machineRecord the manufacturer, model and—if available—serial or generation.
  2. Measure the original selector pinUse callipers where possible. Match the diameter; do not fit an 8 mm pin into a 10 mm hole.
  3. Check usable clearanceAllow for the plate diameter, loading sleeve, machine frame, guards, cables and full travel.
  4. Confirm equipment limitsThe machine manufacturer’s permitted load and intended use take priority over an attachment’s strength.
Safe, controlled training

A stronger pin does not increase the machine’s rating

GymPin products can add loading options; they do not certify or uprate the machine. Get the gym owner’s permission, inspect the setup and stay within the equipment manufacturer’s instructions.

  • Use the correct size and fully seat the pin
  • Load evenly and add resistance gradually
  • Keep plates clear of the frame, cable and guards
  • Use collars or retainers where the product requires them
  • Control every repetition; never drop or slam the stack
  • Stop if anything bends, shifts, rubs or sounds abnormal

Questions about GymPin

Search the full guidance below. If your question concerns a specific machine, include its details when contacting us.

About GymPinWhat is GymPin?

GymPin is a British strength-training brand that develops purpose-built loading solutions and attachments for compatible gym equipment. Products include selectorised weight-stack extenders, plate-loaded machine extenders, specialist handles, straps and other equipment designed to solve specific training limitations.

About GymPinWhat makes GymPin products different from generic accessories?

GymPin products are developed around a defined training or equipment problem rather than simply applying a brand to a generic item. Products are designed, tested and quality checked by a team that trains. Construction, dimensions and intended use vary by product, so always read the individual product specification.

About GymPinWhere are GymPin products made?

GymPin products are designed in Britain and many are machined, fabricated, finished or quality checked in Britain. Manufacturing details can differ by product, so the relevant product page is the definitive source for origin and materials.

CompatibilityWill a GymPin fit my cable machine?

Compatibility depends on the exact machine, the diameter and usable length of its original selector pin, and clearance around the stack. Measure the original component and check that added plates will clear the frame, cables, guards and full movement path. A machine brand alone is not a guarantee.

CompatibilityDo I need an 8 mm or 10 mm GymPin?

Match the diameter of the machine’s original selector pin. Use a calliper on the straight metal shaft where possible. A reading close to 8 mm requires the 8 mm option; a reading close to 10 mm requires the 10 mm option. Do not guess or force a pin that does not insert smoothly.

CompatibilityCan I choose a GymPin size using the machine brand?

Brand guidance is only a starting point. Manufacturers can use different selector-pin dimensions across ranges, models and production years. Confirm the exact machine and measure its original selector pin before ordering.

CompatibilityCan I use an 8 mm pin in a 10 mm selector hole?

No. A mismatched pin can sit incorrectly, move under load or concentrate force where it should not. Always match the selector-pin diameter and stop if the product does not seat correctly.

Product choiceWhat is the difference between the MiniPin, Original GymPin and KingPin?

The MiniPin is the compact option for compatible stacks with limited clearance. The Original 2-inch GymPin is the everyday stack extender and is offered in 8 mm and 10 mm versions. The KingPin is a longer specialist option, is 10 mm only and has a stated pin load rating of 60 kg. The machine’s permitted load may be lower and always takes priority.

CompatibilityWhat weight plates fit a GymPin?

The Original GymPin family is designed around Olympic plates with an approximately 2-inch centre hole. Plate thickness, diameter and machine clearance vary, so confirm that every plate can be loaded securely without contacting the frame, cable or guards.

Product choiceWhat are Olympic Machine Extenders for?

Machine Extenders increase usable loading-sleeve space on compatible plate-loaded equipment. They are not selector pins and are not intended for cable stacks. Confirm the host sleeve diameter, fixing method, surrounding clearance and equipment limits on the product page.

CompatibilityDo GymPin products fit every rack, jammer arm or lever arm?

No. Rack tubing, hole diameter, hole spacing and hardware vary between brands and models. Check the exact product dimensions against your equipment and contact GymPin with measurements and photographs if the setup is unclear.

Safe useHow much weight can I add?

Use the lowest applicable limit: the GymPin product rating, the machine manufacturer’s permitted load, the cable and stack rating, or any limit imposed by the setup. The KingPin has a stated pin load rating of 60 kg, but that does not increase the rating of the machine. Other products have their own specifications. Add load gradually and never assume visible strength equals approved capacity.

Safe useCan I drop or slam a weight stack when using a GymPin?

No. Use controlled repetitions and return the stack gently. Dropping or slamming the stack creates impact forces beyond the static load and can damage the pin, stack, cable, guards or machine. The KingPin specifically carries a do-not-slam warning.

Safe useDo I need the gym owner’s permission?

Yes. Obtain permission before attaching additional equipment or loading plates onto gym machinery. Follow the facility rules and the equipment manufacturer’s instructions. A GymPin accessory does not certify a machine for loading beyond its intended use.

Safe useWhat should I inspect before each use?

Check the product, selector hole, cable, stack, frame and any retaining hardware. Confirm the pin seats fully, plates are secure and the movement path is clear. Stop immediately if anything is loose, bent, cracked, heavily worn, rubbing, shifting or producing an abnormal sound.

Buying helpHow can GymPin help me choose the correct product?

Send the exact machine brand and model, clear photographs of the selector stack or fixing point, the original component measurements and a description of the limitation you want to solve. The team can provide guidance, but the customer must still verify dimensions and follow the machine manufacturer’s requirements.

OrdersCan I change or cancel an order after placing it?

Contact GymPin immediately with the order number. Orders can enter preparation, manufacture or packing quickly, so a change is not guaranteed. The current Refund Policy contains the definitive cancellation and return conditions.

PaymentsWhich payment methods can I use?

Available methods can include eligible debit and credit cards, wallets, PayPal, regional methods and instalment or pay-later services. The exact options depend on country, currency, device, browser, basket and provider eligibility. The methods displayed at Shopify checkout are definitive.

DeliveryDoes GymPin ship internationally?

GymPin ships to many countries from the United Kingdom. Destination availability, weight-based charges and current service information are listed on the Shipping Rates and International Delivery page. Enter the delivery address at checkout for the definitive options for an order.

DeliveryHow is the shipping charge calculated?

GymPin products are often dense metal components. Shipping is calculated from destination, basket contents, product weights and the available courier service. The checkout calculation is definitive.

DeliveryHow long will delivery take?

Delivery includes order preparation and courier transit. The timescale varies by product, destination, service and operational demand. Use the current shipping page and the estimate shown at checkout; tracking is provided after dispatch where supported.

International ordersWill I pay import duty, tax or a handling charge?

International orders can be subject to import duty, tax, brokerage or handling charges imposed by the destination country or courier. Unless checkout explicitly states otherwise, these charges are separate from the GymPin order and remain the recipient’s responsibility.

DeliveryHow do I track my GymPin order?

Use the tracking number from the dispatch email on the Track My GymPin page. A tracking record can take time to update after the label is created or the parcel is collected. Contact support with the order number if the expected update does not appear.

ReturnsWhat if I ordered the wrong size?

Stop and do not force or use the product. Contact GymPin with the order number and measurements. Any return or exchange is governed by the current Refund Policy, including condition, timeframe, return shipping and any applicable deductions.

AftercareWhat if my order arrives damaged or incorrect?

Contact GymPin promptly with the order number, photographs of the item and packaging, and a clear description of the issue. Keep the packaging while the team reviews the evidence and advises the appropriate next step.

ReturnsHow are approved refunds returned?

Approved refunds are normally issued to the original payment method after the return is received and assessed where required. Bank and payment-provider processing times vary. Refer to the current Refund Policy for conditions and exclusions.

Product careWill the finish mark during use?

Contact with plates, selectors, racks and other metal components can create cosmetic wear on functional training equipment. Inspect marks to distinguish ordinary surface wear from deformation or damage. Stop using any item that is bent, cracked or otherwise structurally compromised.

Product careHow should I clean and store GymPin products?

Wipe equipment dry after use and store it away from persistent moisture and corrosive chemicals. Do not use cleaning methods that attack coatings, aluminium, rubber or leather. Inspect the product before returning it to service.
